Full Version: Does the Turn One PS pump need a cooler

Is anyone running a Turn One pump without a cooler? FWIW I plan to run a 25% underdrive pulley and Redline fluid. I am eliminating the OEM cooler in an effort to reduce the amount of heat put into the cooling system, and am wondering if I need an air-to-fluid cooler for the power steering, or if I can run without.

EDIT: This thread probably needs to be moved mods. Sorry.

I autocrossed and lapped in my old 1998 Camaro with just the Turn One pump and Red Line ATF for fluid. No underdrive pulley and no cooler. ...and I didn't have any problems...

They told me that as long as the fluid temp stayed below 275-degrees I'd be fine. I am still running a smaller cooler, though, just to be safe.
