thanks for the patience. However, am happy to tell you that we have concluded with our
client and he has instructed to carry on with his
check, that means that payment will get to you in a
cashier check of $8000 which is a refund payment
of a cancelled order earlier made by my client.
So you are
required to deduct cost of your car $6000 when
payment gets to you and refund balance $2000
(after deducting western union charges ) to my
customer via western union money transfer for him to
be able to offset shipping charges down here.
After payment has reached you and balance sent back to
him,our agent will come for the pick up and drive to a
prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer, while
title papers and other necessary documets will be handed
over to my agent during pick up.
Please Confirm this and provide name, address and phone
number for check payment to be delivered to you via
fedex courier.
I hope you can be trusted with such amount of money .
Thanks

Im almost insulted that this guy thinks that I will fall for this. The question is now should I accept this guys offer and sit on the check until im 110% sure that its legit and not a fraud or just send him a colorful e-mail telling him what I really think and then report this, if there is anyone to report this too.
Decisions decisions.

I have read about this scam a few times on other sites.

You know why you get those? Even Harvard teacher's fall for it. As long as there's a sucker in the crowd, you'll keep getting them. Dateline 3/31/2004: http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/Northeast/03/31...reut/index.html

I'd report it. There is no way that it's not a scam. Although a colorful email would be fun... biggrin.gif.

stop all correspondence with that person

many people will try to pull the same scam on you....

it's always something like... "i'll send you this much money, just send the rest back" or "i'll have my shipping service come over to your house and pick up the item"...

it's pretty easy to smell the BS... i can't stand selling things on the internet.. i always get about 50 scam emails

My all time favorite is the "I am the [queen or prince] of the slain African king of Somewherezuland, and I need to escape to the US. Because of your reputation for being honest and fair we have picked YOU out of all people in the land to help me. Please send me your bank account number so I can deposit $789 bajillion dollars in the account. After I have reached the USA you will get to keep 10% for your efforts."

Sure..........

I must get about 3-4 of those per month these days.

Geez, I think I'd tell him to show up with cash. If "no show", then that solves that one. I would hate to be down wind of that one, it smells bad from here....

Im not holding out much hope for this guy to come through for me. What I will probably do is just tell him that i'll do it and just turn the check over to the police or whoever wants it for there records when it gets here. Althou taking a pic of my bare ass and sending it to him would be kidnda fun, and then I would atleast have a picture on hand for the next time it happens.. smile.gif

Why even answer or bother with this guy? Its a well documented fraud email thats been discussed on many other websites...just pretend you never saw it and move on.

Because im a D*!%, and if there is a slim chance that I can screw this guy over and help him get cought then its worth it. I really hate it when people lie to me and waste my time, this guy is doing both...

There is nothing wrong with that. This guy wants to buy my car for exactly what I was asking for it without even trying to bargan, testdrive, see it in person. I have nothing against shopping on the internet, infact thats how I plan on finding my next car because driving around and doing it the old fashion was sucks.
