Why the momentary switch instead of a rocker switch?
1) It's stock looking

2) I have fears of flipping the switch accidentally one day and killing the battery.
That's where the timer comes in.
The GM defrost timer-relay will use a momentary pulse to energize the relay for 10 minutes on first press (then 5 every press after until the voltage is pulled from it).
Had I wanted to elliminate the rear defrost grid in my convertible I could have just used the defrost switch as well with a simple wire splice... unfortunately I use that defroster in January.
Soooo... does anyone have a HVAC control panel from a Firebird laying around? The solid-state timer-relay I need is built into the board, so a "replacement part" actually is the whole panel

I know you wanta toss that crap you have laying around after building a race-duty monster...
