Damn, you have to sign up to view posts over there now... I would certainly second the "Beware of Brad" thing (well, I guess I'd be way farther down the list than that. 479,321st maybe)...Not that I'm bitter.

I'm not interested in registering, so I guess I'll miss the joke.....
I'm sure he is doing that to get registration up, but I'd like to think that nobody will go back there again after his latest screw up. I know that I'm not in a rush to go over there and register, I'll go see Chris at
www.ls1lt1.com and help that board get rolling. If we are starting over with a new board, it may as well be Chris's (it may still be running in a few years.....).

Jesus. It's gone from bad to worse with him. And, it's about to go down hill again once all the advertisers start wanting refunds for the advertising exposure that they are no longer getting since he killed the site. Unreal.

Unfortunately I did go through the trouble of becoming a member to read this... but I figure I can just post it up for the rest of you all. Enjoy the drama.

Beware of Brad Swaney - Owner of LS1.com
I sent Mr Swaney money for a Spec Stage 3 clutch on July 7th. He requested I send it quickly as he needed the money. I sent the paypal money that day and expected a prompt shipment as he had promised.
A week had passed and no word from Brad. I send a few emails to let him know that my clutch is on the way out and I need it shipped soon. He finally sends me something back only to tell me that the clutch isn't even in the same STATE that he is in!!! WTF??? He says he has to make a trip down there to get things out of storage. I again let him know how urgent this is, and again get no response from him.
Another week goes by and still no word from him. The last email I received over 2 and a half weeks ago now gave me a bunch of excuses about his work, LS1.com being down, etc etc etc. Do I care about that stuff? NO! You promised me a clutch and you didn't deliver.
About a week ago I filed a protest with Paypal and they found in my favor as Mr. Swaney did not respond to their request for an answer (big FREAKIN surprise). They however, were not able to refund money as he did not have it available.
In the meantime I had to come up with MORE money to pay for another clutch as mine went out and I drive my car everday.
So here I sit without my 300 dollars that he has now stolen from me. Yes you stole it! You didn't answer my emails, you didn't answer paypal's emails, you never sent the clutch, and you never sent the money. I ask you nicely one more time, please refund my money and put this situation behind us. I need the money that you stole from me and I need it now. Please do not let this escalate further.

Oh and in case you do read this, paypal has been made aware of this as well as my local police and YOUR local police as well. I have your address and they have been notified. My local bank has been made aware of this as well and will most likely be contacting you for the money very soon.

Me either, but I'm sure I don't have enough storage space and bandwidth here to put up the entire list.....
It's really amazing that he actually did run the site into the ground. We all saw it coming, but he always pulled it out at the last second. I never expected that it would actually all be gone one day.

Once frrax.com came along, I rarely ever goto ls1.com or ls1tech.com unless I'm looking to sell stuff.

I guess I missed the boat. Does Brad still own it? I am almost guessing someone bought the domain out of from under him.

unfortunately yes... which means anyone posting there might have all the data deleted again for non-payment and Brad will just end up screwing yet another ISP company and going elsewhere... someday, he'll have no more ISPs that will take him...

My login would have been 7 years old in October. I am not registering again.
Since they don't do backups, I hope they mirror the disks. I know when I worked on the server years ago (I was the one that discovered it had been root kitted) it was not mirrored and there were no backups.

the company that does the hosting is responsible for backup... but after several letters/notices of non-payment, they disconnect it.
After awhile, if still not paid, the whole thing gets flushed...
Guess what happened ?
hint: re-read what I just said.
Someone stops paying for a service that keeps on being delivered for free... at one point, they get the plug pulled. He just didn't back himself the db before he did again the same thing he's done several times... ie, screw ISPs.
