You get an idea with some of the early pictures and some of the later ones were taken specifically to illustrate the window net hardware. It's kind of a neat set up - a curve metal piece attaches to the bottom bar and there is a mount welded to the cage and loosely held by a bolt. This permits the bottom bar in the net to fit neatly between the seat and the door when not need - and the curved piece hugs the bar...

...yeah, mine, like Keith's, has the lower mount raises with a curved metal bar....mine bent much more simply, but not as trick...that allows the thing to drop between the seat and the bars when not in use.....

You want the net to drop down/out of the way in an emergency......

On my dirt track car....

The bottom of the net has a steel bar running through it and on each end a small piece of steel tubing is used for the bar to slide into.

The top of the net has the steel bar with a buckle attached to it that is slid into the same type of small tubing on one end and of course buckle up on the other end to a buckle mount mounted to the roll bar.

i've got most of it built. the only part left is the forward attachment of the lower rod for the net. its too high to reach the NASCAR door bars. i want something that will not stick out from the bars like a tab or something. i was thinking of using a thin rubber coated cable wrapped around the door bar to limit the window net bar, and that would allow for it to drop out of the way when the top is detatched.

thanks for the pics.
and i cant see a thing in Randy's.

it is still blurry, I took it with my old free camera, but it is like described below...mine was too short as well....that is why the bent solid bar on the bottom....to get it some hieght and it drops below the door bars and out of the way when not in...

Nice and simple, Randy. ever have it slide back and fall out?

Keith, did I see where yours is attached with tabs, nuts and bolts?

(Mitch, get some coffee in you. EDIT: I mis-read your reply BEFORE I had coffee. Doh!)

Anyway, I think you are asking about the attachment points, right?

Bottom:
The rearward portion of the rod is permenantly run through a small metal loop welded to the cage. It doesn't come out until you remove the hardware at the front. The foreward portion of the rod has that curved welded piece on it. On one of the curved pieceside, the end of the rod is welded to it. On the other side of the curved piece, there is a hole drilled. A bolt goes through the drilled hole, then through another metal loop welded to the cage. The end is capped with one of those nuts that only has one end open. This is to permit the curved piece (and thus the bottom of the net) to swing out of the way when not in use.

Top:
Like everyone else's that I've seen - the rearward end of the rod goes through a loop that is welded to the cage and the front of the rod has the buckle welded to it and it affixes to the buckle receiver, which is also welded to the cage.

I *think* I answered your question. Do you want me to take more detailed pictures of something?

No, the front part of the bottom bar has a hole drilled in it for a small clevis pin....it holds it from falling out....and is easily removed
