Hi,
I need to replace my lower shock nuts for my front and rear shocks. I was wondering what strength I need to get. I've always heard grade 8 is the strength to go with.
Will I need to get washers to go with the front shock's nuts? because the nuts on there now have the round bottom to them.
Right now I'm just using stainless steel nuts from ace hardware and I realized they might not be strong enough.
Thanks!

I don't think those nuts see any load
On the rear they just prevent the shock from sliding off the bolt. The bolt is what takes all the load.

How about the front lower shock nuts? They require 48 ft Lbs of torque. Is a normal stainless steel nut gonna be strong enough?

Well the front lower shock bolts are metric so they're 10.9 class. Use the approriate hardware.
