Indianapolis Motorsports Park has pencilled us in May 14-16, 2009, and right now the organizers are looking to finalize the contract.

So who will be going from the northeast? Specifically from the Jersey area?

I am going to have to think about this. With only street cars, no truck or trailer, it could be a long walk home if I snap anything.

There's usually a few folks from NJ that have gone, as well as a decent number of guys driving out from MD and VA as well, so worst case, you could get your car 1-2 hrs from home at least! Get AAA Plus for the last 100 miles if needed. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Andris, in CT now...

lol

We will see what kind of shape my car is even in by then. With the way the finance market is going and some of the high side gambles I am taking, I coudl either be buying the house my friend is selling with the great attached shop/mega-garage or I coudl be taking a second job at McD's. lol

What can I say, I have been a risk taker my whole life. I didn't grow up rich, I'm not a millionaire now, so if I go from poor to broke, what have I really lost? lol

There's $812 worth of Kumho Ecsta XS rubber sitting on my car, as of this morning, just waiting for Indy.

This is exciting! I just found out about the event today from browsing this section of the forum. I go to school about an hour away from Indy, so I'm going to try to make at least the auto-x event. Although it looks like it would mean me taking a day off from classes. You'd think my mechanical engineering professors would understand, right? The road course would be a fun, especially since there aren't that many opportunities to do a track day at ORP. Does anyone know what the costs are going to be for this year? I didn't see anything on the official web page, but maybe somebody else is privy?

Post correction to prevent mis-information: Originally I thought the road course portion would be at IMS, not ORP (formerly IRP). It turns out there is actually a road course at ORP, which I was unaware of.

The road course would be a fun, especially since there aren't that many opportunities to do a track day at the speedway in Indy. I lived in Indy last summer and my apartment was about 2 miles from the track. I drove by it all of the time thinking, man, that would be a good time! Hmm, I may have to pass on a putnam event to hit up IMS. Does anyone know what the costs are going to be for this year? I didn't see anything on the official web page, but maybe somebody else is privy?

Sadly it's not at IMS, it's at IRP (unless it's changed).

Ohhh, my mistake, big difference! I didn't even realize that there was a road course there. I only thought there was the drag strip and the circle. Hmm, has anyone driven on the road course at IRP?

Look here for graphic:

http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/IN/images/irp.gif

The National Fbody event has run there at least twice. If you have any specific questions, I will try to answer them

(edit) Im pretty sure Andris is following this thread too, and he can also answer your questions

Does anyone know when registration is going to open for this?

EDIT:
Ask and you shall receive!

It opened today!

I'm still planning on signing up for the auto-x.

Who else is going to be there?

My dad and I are signed up. Look for a Tangerine pearl 91 Z and a blue 83 Z, or come talk to the road course organizer (Me) or the pit marshall (Dad)

See you in May!
