Apparently one of mine is bent... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
I need a driver's side 9-bolt axle. Or a 3rd gen width 10-bolt... I have a 28-spline 3-series posi for a 10-bolt that I've had one a shelf for the day I blow up the 9-bolt because I promised myself I wouldn't put any more money into it... But getting the 9-bolt fixed is Plan A. Im in middle Georgia.

What does it take to get into doing something like this? Maybe I've just been watching too much Initial D....
http://www.ccrscca.com/2011/04/28/the-tail...agon-hillclimb/ Has anyone else ever done any hillclimbs? My car is woefully inadequate for something like this, but it looks like an interesting long term proposition to get into. This is a few hours from where I live, some of you guys in Atlanta probably know all about the tail of the dragon. But what kind of preparation level do events like this normally require? Are these kinds of things open to amateurs? Do you need SCCA licenses? I can always contact them and ask, but I was specifically curious if any of you guys have ever dabbled in anything like this, especially since I've got a lot of other things on my plate (school, etc) for the next couple of years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkFKyyF860E Looks like a BLAST..

I need seat time, tires, a better driver, etc... If you see anything happening with the car that might be useful, let me know. I don't know enough about suspension stuff to know what's going on. It seems like it understeers badly on transitions but oversteers slightly on sweepers. Just looking for perhaps advice and coaching. This is my second autocross ever. This run is around 52 seconds (times arent posted yet). The Lotus Elise was doing 44 second laps, most of the really fast cars were doing upper 40's. |
