I am pretty excited to see one of the Z-28's or a 1LE's on the track in stock-ish trim, but I think those z-28 wheels are terrible.

I fear it'll be a $60K car with all those expen$ive features.

I like how they're building it in the 'spirit' of a lightweight, nimble car. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rotf.gif)

Looks a little ugly to me, love the looks of the ZL1 and 1LE much better.

I can't quite figure out why they didn't just call the ZL1 a Z28, keep the LS3 for the SS and the cruiser types, and then use all the lightening measures and LS7 on the 1LE. Now THAT would be a track package to drool after . . .

Even 300 lbs less than the ZL1 it still weighs 3820 lbs. How long will a set of brake pads, rotors and tires last at that rate? You think you could get 10 laps out of it?

Remember, it has 15" carbon ceramic rotors, so pad/rotor life should be extended significantly. THAT you get with that estimated (by me) $60K unit price.

3820#?!? That's approaching the weight of our 96 Impala SS!!! I guess all those airbags provide additional ground-hugging weight. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

I would be curious to see what one of the Z-28's would weigh if it was delivered in a package similar to the Boss 302.

By all accounts, the weight along with the suspension tuning is what seems to make the new 1LE a great track car.

Hope GM has the valve issue fixed on the LS7! If not, a lot of Z28 owners will be very disappointed in their "track ready" car!
