The Good news:
Been waiting to get a chance to edit a LOT of footage from my last day at Infineon Raceway a few weeks back. AWESOME DAY. My CAR was putting up some serious lap time (IMO) all things considered. With lots of Blaine Fab love on the car, it was kicking ass and taking Porsches names. It seemed to understeer and its response to feedback was sort of inconsistent I felt.....but somehow I was ripping off 1:56s, in my FULL WEIGHT+ street driven car.....with a passenger, and a bit of traffic on most laps. I think the understeer might have been due to the fact that I was pushing the car a lot harder than I was on my previous outing here....and its a pig.

The Ugly:

Hurt the motor coming around the carousel near the end of the day. My best friend/mechanic was driving and the car lost oil pressure (25psi at idle) after coming around it. I noticed throughout the day that if I had the entry just right, and the car was biting real hard.....the pressure would dip for a split second at the end of the run-out.... and then shoot right back up. Guess the ol' LS1 got tired of that shit by the end of the day. It likely spun a/some rod bearings. It was knocking GOOD by the time we limped it back into the pits.

Anywho, here is a couple of teaser clips before we compile the full days edit:

This thread is several weeks past due....but well deserved none the less. Big thanks to Alan at Blaine Fab for spending an entire Saturday (into the night even) working on upgrading my cars suspension. He was VERY meticulous throughout the entire process......always taking extra time to REALLY clean everything, double checking every thing, and doing extra little mods along the way (like removing unnecessary brackets and such). He was also FULL of great advice about future modifications that he shared with me.

We installed my bolt-in Unbalanced Engineering tq arm, UMI roto-joint LCAs and relocation brackets. Took a little longer than we expected.....but I blame that on good conversation (read: bench racing) and Alan being so thorough. I won't list the price but lets just say it was BEYOND worth every penny. I only brought a certain amount of cash with me (broke racer) and he honored his original quote which was a steal IMO for his expertise.

Long story short....the modifications shaved approximately 4 seconds off of my Button Willow #13cw with more time still on the table. Car feels much different. Still brake hops like a bitch if I get aggressive into a hot braking zone, but I think the tq arm still needs some dialing in. I would bitch about the car still brake hopping after this tq arm.....but the transponder doesn't lie, and as mentioned it likely needs more adjustment.

On with the pics and Video!

I failed at Google today, and gave up after 5 minutes of trying different search entrys. How can I make videos of my racing that has on-screen lap time, lap position, speed, revs, throttle/brake etc....

I'll be using a HERO2. Is there some sort of harware/software package I can buy?? I am clueless. School me on options please.

***Beware!!! Mustang porn to follow lol***

My buddy and I participated in an ope n passing group at buttonwillow (13cw) last weekend. We both did great all things considered. He ran a best of 2:03.3 with a passenger, and even had to lift a couple times for the cars in front of him. He was on low boost (620whp). I ran a 2:08.0 with a passenger, but was granny braking the whole lap due to brake hop. It showed up a couple times if I got on the brakes hard, but I managed to keep her on the asphault all day. My vids will come soon!

Here is his video (make sure you catch the end!)

Actually thanks to my GF for getting me a gift card for a big box parts website! It was time to get my car track ready again. Just ordered:

--Fresh set of 275/40/17 NT01s. Hopefully this set will last longer than 4 track days.

--UMI rear control arms, double adjustable, cromoly with roto joints and fresh hardware

--UMI Relocation brackets.

--UETA!!!!!! <---Can't wait to install this!!!!

Hopefully the above, combined with smoother driving on my part, will allow me to fully utilize my cars braking capability. If that works out, then I think I can be competitive in some local time attack series.
