I have 4 295's that I Picked up to run the UTCC at VIR, last month. Broke the transmission and never ran on them. They have three heat cycles from what I was told. I got them 4 weeks after they came out if the mold (may '14) I'm going back to 315's and I needs transmission money to get a Dogbox Trans! $600 OBO plus shipping. I havn't posted over here in a while, but Since I've learned so much from here for my 4th gen I thought I would share my current project that I'm just getting out of the garage. Had her first AutoX last weekend and I'm planning to take it to Carolina Motorsports park in April. Here's a few build pics and some shots from last weekend. Enjoy!

I just finished my first HPDE weekend! no more autox for me, I'm officially hooked on the speed crack. It was with NASA SE at NCCAR which is not really a race track but more of a test track. There is no curbing or reference markers, but plenty of different elements to drive. After I lapped most of the field twice in each session of DE1, they booted me up to DE2 for safty reasons. My car was just so much faster than the others and I knew how to drive it. DE2 was more fun with faster cars and fewer of them, but I was still faster! Having Autox'd the car for so many years and perfecting the balance of the car really paid off on the track. I could put the car anywhere on the track and it would stick (there were limits of course) I'm going to do HPDE2 at VIR in July and maybe one more this year, we'll see how the funds go. I'm driving my DD Trans Am, so I may only do a few more before the more race oriented Camaro gets finished. Oh, and I leaned all the same things FASTFATBOY did! I need to flush the brakes and fill the system with Blue, had some brakeing issues and soft pedal a few times, other than that the car worked perfectly. Perfect race weekend, drive the car up and unload it, run the piss out of it, pack it up and drive home. Doesn't get any better than that.

I'm building a 67 RS autocross/track toy that can still be street driven. So far the car has a custom front clip with C5 corvette suspension and a C4 corvette IRS out back. Sitting in the car now is a small block and a NASCAR built super T10

My son blew his LS1 motor on Sat and scooped up a longblock locally, I now have a LS1 at my disposal (if it's rebuildable) Between he and I we have enough take off parts to pretty much make a complete motor minus the accesories.

So here's the question. Should I continue to keep the SBC that's in the car now or go with the LS1?

The SBC is a destroked 400. 4 bolt main, steel crank, wiesco pistions and chevy pink rods. Heads are 441's with 2.02 1.6 valves, fully ported and port matched to the headers and intake. Intake is an old school torquer single plane. Carb is a 650 mech. Estimated power around 425 or so.

LS1 would be a mild build with the usual bolt ons. Custom mega squirt efi controller, maybe put a carb intake on it and use the 650?

I would keep the Super T10 trans (4speed) that I have now in either case.

At this point on the car, I still have to do the fuel system and the wiring so either route logisitcally would be the same.

Anybody know the weight difference between a iron headed SBC and an LS1? What would you guys do if you had the choice?

If you are going to Nationals this will be the ideal spot to get your car dialed into the concrete. We have the best concrete surface on the east coast! Lots of prizes too!
