I was thinking that a "Driving Styles and Techniques" forum should be added. There are quite a few threads already out that would appropriately fit under this forum. I'm sure plenty of people would appreciate it.

I like it! There should be a place where it is clear to the user they can discuss technique.

I think it's covered by the motorsports forums - and is already differentiated into RR/AX so they don't get confused.

Thankyou trackbird for considering throwing in this forum. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

Edit: to better match the outcome of this topic.

I had a spare minute and tossed one up there, but I'm not sure it's needed. We'll discuss it more before I decide if it stays or goes.

I do agree with Alan and fear the mixing of autocross/road race technique. Preventing that would require two forums, which we do already have....

Anyone else?

I'm still trying to decide if it stays or goes. We'll continue the thread in the suggestions forum and decide from there.

I had a spare minute and created it, but I don't yet know if it will stay or not.

I think splitting the forum into two sections (RR & AX) might work well. If you don't like it like that idea of it having it's own dedicated forum, then might I suggest that you have a separate section under (within) the AX and RR forums dedicated for this.

I think this is a great forum to have. People will be able to discuss or compare their style of driving or techniques used. There could be some blending of topic info, but I think that comparing general (or specific) driving info will help both experienced and novices alike.

I've seen a few "heel-toe", "shuffle steer", and "trail brake" posts around. This won't be a "high post count" category, but it works for me!

Just my opinion, but I'd say it already fits under the appropriate (autox or RR) forum in the motorsports section.

Personally, I think one new common driving forum is plenty. I always use "view new posts" anyway, and I've always happily read most of the posts relating to autocross, road racing, land speed, the unique requirements of CMC and etc to learn whatever I can from all of them.

I was thinking last week that a forum in Motorsports for Open Road Racing would be a good thing, since the setups and driving are very unlike either AX or RR. After the Big Bend race it seems even more appropriate.
