Hi guys - The trailer is going up for sale (no more tow vehicle). Yes, I still have the Camaro, but no time to race it at the moment (or deliver the trailer, no tow vehicle). Been incredibly busy at work and back into racing bicycles, triathlons, flying, and homebrew. I'll probably get back into it in a few years again. Seems to go in 5-10 year cycles <shrug>.
Pics at: http://skulte.com/Trailer I purchased this trailer new from Atlantic Coast Trailers in the spring of 2001. It was used 2 to 3 times per year until 2008, and then not very frequently. Since I'm no longer road racing, I no longer need a trailer. A similar trailer new with these options would be over $4,000. Let me know if anyone has questions. I'm also listing it on Craigslist and Racing Junk. If you know other places to list, please let me know. Apparently there's a big RV community that uses car trailers too. Thanks for the help! A guy on the A-sedan list is selling his 7500 series Penske's, and I thought someone here might be able to use them. No affiliation, etc...

It's always more fun driving 1300 miles with 20 of your closest car buddies. Besides, you double your gas mileage drafting an enclosed trailer! There are caravans going to Memphis from all corners, so we'll need someone in each one to take the lead. Aim to arrive at the hotel on Wednesday afternoon to check in, grab a quick shower and dinner before the driver's meeting Wednesday night.
If you'd like to start a caravan from your area, just make a post with the general trip in the title - "MA/CT/NY/NJ Caravan" so others that are interested can post in the thread. As time gets closer and you guys work out the details, update the first post with a rough itinerary so folks get an idea of what's planned and who's meeting up when and where. The NY/NJ/CT Caravan would usually meet up with the MD/VA/NC guys in VA on Tuesday night at the far west corner of VA, all stay at the same hotel, and we'd be 20 strong rolling into the hotel. I'll edit this post to show the different caravans planned. So far: MA/CT/NJ/NY - Leave Tuesday 5/13, South on Rt81 to stay over in SW Virginia Tuesday night to meet up with the Mid Atlantic group. Wednesday continue across TN on Rt40. Alternate way would be across PA, then south through OH and KY. Andris

We wanted to sweeten the deal for our road racers - you get 5 free test and tune passes down the drag strip as well, with the road race entry fee. For those with 10 bolt rear ends - 5 passes is about all it takes to break them on sticky tires! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Anyways, we're Bock, James, Jeff & I are working to get the details finalized, but I wanted to share this with y'all.
Don't forget that our fancy 6 point harnesses need to be less than 2 years old, per the SFI tag to pass NHRA tech. Don't worry - they think the OEM 40 year old lap belts on a 1st gen are OK, so be sure to bring your stock belts just in case you want to run for only 12 seconds at a time! |
