For CAM-C, I’d like to get tires for my 95 Z28 to go on a set of C5 Z06 18x10.5s. I’m leaning toward the 275 35 18 RE71s. I know there are wider options in other brands, but are they faster on this size rim? Car is a 95 Z28. I also have 4 17x11s if there is a better option for those.

Thanks!

I've been away from the autocross scene for a number of years but looking to get back into it. I'm having a hard time deciding whether to give CAM-C a try in my 95 Camaro, or whether the car is just too old to be competitive with the newer IRS pony cars. My car has 550/150 springs with revalved Bilsteins, a 32mm solid front bar, 21mm rear bar, GW front A-arms (as well as some other suspension bits in the rear) and about 360 whp with a T56, 3.73 final drive and a Torsen T2R. I've got a complete set of 18x10.5 Z06 wheels and would run 315 30 18 Rival S's square, though I haven't purchased the tires yet. The car is currently sitting on Conti ExtremeSportContacts 285 40 17s on 17x9.5" wheels, which would probably be my rain set up. The car is about 3500 lbs. (guessing) because it has a back half cage and GW SFC's.

Does this sound like a car that could potentially come close to running with the typical pack in CAM-C (rusty driver notwithstanding)?

My daily is a 2018 ZL1 and it'd be sad if my modded fourth-gen couldn't be more competitive in CAM-C than my stock ZL1. If that is even close to the case, I'm definitely barking up the wrong tree spending money on Old Faithful. I have no desire to autocross the new car though. If I don't go down the CAM-C road with my fourth-gen, then I'll probably sell the car (which I've owned over 20 years) and get something like a Miata or SSC 86 twin.

Thanks for any thoughts. I've been mulling this over for a while and am really kind of stuck.

Thanks,
Rich

Already have one set of these. Looking for a second set to have 18s all the way around. Curb damage and scratches okay. I'm trying to watch the Corvette forums and craigslist, but getting impatient. If you have anything or see anything, please post up. Thanks!

NO LONGER FOR SALE

For Sale: 1995 Camaro Z28 M6 Street/Track/Autocross car, approximately 55k miles

$6,000 or best offer. Includes 3 sets of extra wheels and all spares listed below.

I purchased this car in April 1997 when it had 13k miles and it’s been a weekend car for almost 20 years now. It’s never been a daily driver for me, so it’s never been driven in winter and it’s not been driven in much rain either. However, it’s not a show queen. I autocrossed it in F Stock and ESP at SCCA autocrosses until about 2000 when I got interested in track driving schools. During the winter of 2000, when the car had about 30k miles on it, I did a head/cam swap on it and the power rose to 345 at the wheels on a Dynojet. A couple years later, I upgraded the heads to Agostino Racing ported stock heads, which resulted in 360-something horsepower at the wheels after a dyno tune by my friend Jeff Creech of CAM (that’s the current tune in the car). I went through a brief drag racing phase and got the car down as low as a 12.2@113 (with 4.11 gears) before returning to track events and autocross. The power mods and tune are the same though, so it still makes that level of power.

Through the years, I’ve gone through a number of spring and shock setups, but I’ll only list below what’s in the car now. For most of the years, the car was garaged year round, but over the past 5 years it has mostly been stored in my driveway with a high quality cover. Except when the roads have been salted, I’ve regularly started it up and taken it out for 20-30 minute drives each week to get everything up to temp and keep condensation and corrosion away in the motor. The car has been well-loved and never abused. Due to its use for motorsports rather than daily driving, the chassis is still tight (SFCs installed early) and it hasn’t been beaten up on rough roads. It’s also never been in an accident and never seen any kind of contact or serious off-road excursions on track. Paint is 100% original and in great glossy shape except (one faded body moulding). In the past year, I put in a new Optispark, new OEM water pump (not a Chinese knockoff), new plugs, new coolant and it’s had regular oil changes for the past several years with Amsoil motor oil. The car drives great.

My reason for selling: I just don’t use the car anymore and need to make space. I’ve kept the car too long for sentimental reasons (my first sports car), and I need to move on. Also, in 2004 I got a new Evo and I’ve been more focused on running that car ever since, but even it is getting long in the tooth these days. I’ve always thought about doing an LS swap and getting this car back out there on the track, but the reality is that I don’t have space for a lift and I don’t have the time/energy to take on a big project like that anymore with all of my family demands and other hobbies. So, it’s time to let the car go.
I know that these cars are not worth a lot. I’m hoping that an f-body enthusiast will buy it. Relatively speaking, it’s a time capsule and has a lot of great mods that will make it perform far better on the track or autocross than anyone would expect.

Please PM me if you think the price is way off or if you have questions. Car is in Northern Virginia.

Prefer to sell to a seasoned f-body adult enthusiast. I wouldn’t recommend this car for a new teen driver, due to lack of traction control and very neutral handling, especially with the T2R in the rain!

Thanks!

Anyone have any 2.5" springs that they are looking to sell? I'm looking for stiffer front springs for my car, in the 600-750 range, and I'm also looking for a pair of 650-750 lb. 7-8" springs for my Evo. I've got a set of 450 lb. coilover springs for the front of a Camaro that I'm looking to sell if anyone is interested, also.

Thanks,
Rich
