Hey guys,

I think it is time to finally upgrade, the tires on the good ol' 15" wheels are finally getting close to end of their life. I'm looking to see what the availability of some 17" wheels is. I unfortantly do not have much money, but I figure its worth checking to see if someone has a spare set of stockers laying around, they are not using. I really don't care what style they are, or if they are cosmeticly great. About all I can really swing is probably about $350 including shipping. I thought I would post, and see if someone has something in the back of their garage taking up some space, that they have no use for, and are willing to practicly donate to a young want-to-be racer.

I assume that you are looking for something that will fit a 3rd gen? This will somewhat limit your choices. You need to consider offset versus fender clearance. Stock 4th gen wheels (the cheapest out there) have a +56mm offset all around. Stock 3rd gen wheels have +0mm offset front and +16mm offset rear (they stick out alot further).

The cheapest new 17" wheels that I have found were over at tires.com. I have had 3 sets of these over the years. They are OK wheels but they weight quite a bit. The brand name is something like Replica and they sell 17" ZR-1 replicas with various offsets. Maybe you should consider buying 2 at a time should your search for cheapie used wheels doesn't work out.

I am just trying to help.

Keith.

Yes it is for a thirdgen, but 4th gen stockers would work OK for me right now, I can get easy access to billet adaptors. I am basicly trying to avoid re-using the 15's again. I would rather not pay for tires on those again.

Not perfect, but I thought I'd mention these. It's advertised on my local board.

Not sure if you have a local board, but I picked up some GM ZR1s for $375 from a guy about an hour and a half south of me when I saw them advertised. Can't beat them for the price.

You might want to watch ebay too, watch a lot of auctions for AFS replicas. Not as light as GM wheels, but I've seen some sets go for damn cheap.

Another thing you can look for are '01-'02 SS wheels on ebay. I've had two sets off there in the past that I paid ~$400 shipped for.

I've snagged a few sets here on frrax for far less than that, shipped/partially delivered (though that set was $400, it included a set of Nitto 555RII's).
