Isn't a T56 swap kit worth $1500 by itself?

$1000 bux for that car seems like a steal, is it really ragged out inside or something? Who would let it go with a running engine and trans for $1k? I sure wouldn't mind finding a deal like that on an LT1 car....

Now you need a bigger truck and two car trailer so you can bring the rental car to the track.

Isn't a T56 swap kit worth $1500 by itself? It's hard to tell. When I need one ... yes, they are at least $1500 When I have one for sale, they are usually about half that price. I keep waffling on what to do. The late model TA nose will bring a couple hundred. The hood another $200 The chrome SS 10 spokes should sell for $300+ I got a new Spec clutch for my race car which is at least $300. So then I have a complete, running car for free. I have the 93-97 body panels to retrofit it. Few hundred bucks for tube, out of date harnesses, a battery box and welding lead for battery cable and I ought to have a decent track car. Or, sell the driveline to a 3rd gen CMC-er for $1500 and walk away. |

Send some of those $1000 6 speed cars up north. You can't touch one for under $3000 up here. :\

Took it to Wal-Mart ... replaced, no charge. Sweet! Installed battery. PLugged in wiring harness. Turned key ...motor lit right off the bat. Sounds good and appears to hold decent oil pressure. Sweet! Definitely needs the clutch replaced. Tranny goes in all the gears just fine. No oil leaks ... well, for an LT1 any way. Gutted the interior. Sweet! Car used to be teal green ... what is it about finding nothing but teal green cars? |

I had to pay $475 for a '97 Saturn SL2 parts car that has rods ready to come through the block but a good trans and good tires.
The girlfriend must learn to drive stick soon... (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rant2.gif) |
