Hey guys I just found this place and I'm really happy to see fellow F-body AutoX nuts. I've only done a couple of events in my WS6 but I used to regularly kill cones in a little 240Z many years ago. I've also managed to get the wife addicted to the sport and she won a divisional 1st at her second event, so she's most definitely hooked.

Mitch, I'm already starting to wonder how I'll manage both my car and my daughter's kart in about 7 years when she's old enough (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
WS6WRX, welcome! |

Welcome, all I can say is jump in. All of us on here are doing our best to help each other out. I keep on hoping that if we remain faithful to the F body GM will decide to bring it back . . .
Sean, why not just drive your daughter's kart or get your own instead of still racing your car? I'm considering that option. |

QUOTE (94bird @ Aug 9 2004, 10:45 PM) Sean, why not just drive your daughter's kart or get your own instead of still racing your car? I'm considering that option. I don't think I'd fit in an eight-year-old's Formula Junior kart. Maybe when she's older .... I keep thinking about getting a used Formula Ford 1600 for track days and autocross (in C Mod), but I'll probably have to replace my wife's car first. It wouldn't take too many sets of giant Hoosiers to pay for the FF1600 with its cheap little tires, and they look like a blast to drive. Dan Popp's daughter was at the Tri-Region Challenge last weekend, apparently for the first time or nearly so. She dropped a bunch of time once he raised the brake pedal so she could reach it. The rumour was that he promised to buy her a faster kart when she could get through the course without lifting (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It looked like a lot of fun. |

Thanks for the replies guys. The WRX isn't an STi but it's not slow either, it has run mid 13's in the 1/4 and is in line for a new trans gear set and a ported/polished turbo which will make for better spool and alot less lag. My wife picks out all her own mods and does a ton of research. We both have a ton of mods so we both run in the SM class, but who cares about winning, we just go for the fun. I haven't been to any Atlanta events yet but I'm sure I will since I'm only about 2hrs away. I've been to the last couple events at the Michelin plant and a couple others so far. I look forward to many many more.

Had a blast there, good talkin to ya, hopefully that won't be the last Michelin event. I also have the video of my runs, here's a couple including the last run that went so well (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

She's not rice though, the car moves out pretty well. Here's a vid of the wife's WRX at the strip, weather was really really hot so it wasn't the best time but it did beat out a 350Z that was talkin crap. http://www.dodgez.com/movies/WRX_power.wmv |
