We've recently made a change to the allowable size for avatars. If your avatar is S T R E T C H E D.... please resubmit it and that should straighten it out.
The new MAX size is 160 x 80 pixels. Thanks |

Apparently "wider is better" doesn't really apply to cats, but it still doesn't look as wrong as it should.
Maybe it's 'cause I watched the football head kid a few days ago. Of course, once I get my jollies and set the dimensions back to normal, these posts aren't going to make any sense at all. |

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) ). Actually, that's one of my (our) 5 cats. It's the smallest one, we have 4 more and as a group they run from 6 to 22 lbs. We have a few really big cats (22 and 17.5 lbs). My cat sits on my lap, one sleeps on my laser printer, one lays behind me on the floor, one is hiding under the bed (the one in my avatar) because she's scared of the thunder storm we are currently having and one sits on my wifes keyboard, but only when she's trying to use it. |

QUOTE (firehawkclone @ Nov 8 2005, 22:44) Kevin and Sean, after all this time here I just noticed you both have cat's for avatars. Why? We have two cats. The one in the picture is shy and spends a lot of time in the basement, but always appears when I'm at the PC. I shot the picture when I was playing around with the "nightshot" mode on my new (at the time) Sony camera. It turns out that the only thing it's really useful for in that mode (due to very limited range) is photographing a curious cat that wanders too close. At the time I picked it as an avatar, I was toying with the idea of "Wide Eyed Racing". Now my daughter, who just turned two, will ask to see the black kitty and the gray kitty if I'm at the PC. "Right to bare arm's" This doesn't apply to avatar's? (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/bs.gif) |

Since we are already far afield ....
There is no constitutional right to a forum for freedom of speech. In this case, I doubt if the owner of the site objected, so I assume the service provider did. They are within their rights to do so, and in fact it could be viewed as their "freedom of speech" to forbid their assets to be used to promote views they don't support. It cuts both way sometimes, though I'm certainly no fan of political correctness. Personally, I've just never wanted to advertise on the internet (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) This post has been edited by sgarnett: Nov 9 2005, 03:37 PM |

Actually, I threw up the 1911 photo as a joke (but I forget why...something about a new sheriff in town when we had a mess as I remeber). Someone asked that we remove them due to browsing at work and potential "boss" issues with the firearms avatars. So, it wasn't anything official, but I had a request from a member and it seemed to make sense, so we all pulled them down.

Actually, that would count as "creating a hostile workplace" for me too. Oh well.

Yea, I had a cat too, I ended up removing all it's guts. Doesn't require any food and purrs like a kitten. And the best thing, it still looks like a cat!

What are the signature limits?
I tried to change mine to actually reduce it but when I tried to save again it told me it was still to big. |
