Just though I'd acknowledge viewing Keith O.s' car in this issue of Grassroots Motorsports.
Thats got to be cool when you get to see your own car in a magazine. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) |

QUOTE (#07 @ Jul 12 2005, 16:59) Just though I'd acknowledge viewing Keith O.s' car in this issue of Grassroots Motorsports. Thats got to be cool when you get to see your own car in a magazine. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/thumbup.gif) Yes, I was very pleased and surprised because I didn't expect it... To be honest - I expected to see it in there last year. A guy that used to autocross and lap with us locally had a black Type-R Integra and I had a black LS1 Z28. We switched cars on occasion for autocross fun runs and had some real fun on lapping days since our lap times were fairly similar (he'd kill me in the turns and I'd hammer him on the straights (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ). We had a running joke (remember both cars were "Zaino black", too) that if I would just put Type-R stickers on the Z, I'd be able to run away from him on the track. Fastfoward to two years ago. That Type-R owner got a job as a journalist for GRM. When I bought my race car, I sent him pictures of the car (complete with Type-R stickers) and he loved it. He mailed me some GRM stickers and I put them on the car. I guess he cruised the event website from the Mid Ohio race in April (the snow event) and put it in the magazine. I still haven't contacted him but I guess I should. |

...I fired off an e-mail to the GRM journalist (Scott Lear) this morning...
I am working to keep the points up-to-date at the national website, http://www.camaromustangchallenge.com/ It appears that the Mid-Atlantic stuff will also be appearing there soon so we will have 100% use of the site real soon. I am currently the regional points leader but it's down to participation rather than actual driving in our region right now. This coming weekend, there are two races at Gingerman but I can't attend due to funds. Assuming that "King" shows up (the Hot Rod Magazine car) and starts both races he'll get me on points by simply taking the green for both races. The next race is at Waterford Hills next month and I plan to attend. Many drivers can't go to Waterford because you *must* run a muffler and the noise limit is 75db as measured from the edge of the property. As far as I know, I am the only CMC-er in the region with a muffler and I am sure that I have the only street-legal car (I drop it off for the annual state inspection and emissions testing this evening). So overall things are going OK but I really, really wish that we could increase the participation level in the region. I would rather run 5th out of 5 than to run 1st out of 1. |

I hear ya Keith...and yeah, we're going to have all of the east coast info on the CMC site soon (driver bios, race results, etc). We have track records so far. I was psyched to see that picture the other day! I was flying to Houston and I brought my three GRM issues I hadnt read with me.
