This is a very well set up car.

So what are you replacing it with?

Thanks Chris!

Unfortunately, just another HS car like a Mazda3 or something mundane like that. The days of me having a toy is over. Professional and familial obligations can't support it. So, something like a Mazda3 will allow me to at least autocross for seat time, but the days of having competitive vehicles for a class are done for the foreseeable future... The again, a Kia Forte5 won a ProSolo, right? LOL!

That sucks. I hate to see you selling it, particularly if you're not moving onto another project.

One of the guys here (a local friend) sent me a text last night and said "Someone posted a car for you on FRRAX". I told him I was building a house and couldn't buy anything now....but I already own the wheels off of it. I'm assuming the 10 spokes in the autocross pic are the ones that are now grey and on my convertible. He suggested that I was on already on my way to collecting the whole package. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I love the color. When I bought my new 2002 in 2002, I wanted that color. I wound up with black since I bought the last 6 speed car I could find anywhere near Ohio in May of 2002.

Thanks. It does suck, but I've got three kids and a wife who is a stay-at-home mom. A Mazda3 (or the like) is a better compromise than an SUV or minivan. Hell, I can claim Mazda contingency if I do well at a National event in the Mazda. Couldn't get that from Chevy. LOL!

True. And I've always liked Mazda. I had a 1991 MX6 (came into the household with my ex wife) that was fun to drive. My friend had a Mazda 3 wagon (2007-ish?) that was quite rewarding on a back road if you were smooth and maintained speed. I had a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6. It was a riot until 8/10ths. Then it needed more front negative camber (and there wasn't an adjustment for it). But it was a lot of fun in the snow, on mountain roads and just generally a fun time. And for a while we were looking pretty hard for a Miata...drove every generation out there....but didn't buy one (yet). I have a feeling one might find a way into my world at some point.

Price lowered to just $6000. The Craigslist sharks are circling now. Although money is money, someone please keep this thing from being turned into a rat trap with someone who won't use the car properly.

If it doesn't sell soon, it's just going to get traded in or sold to one of those cash for car sites.

I do, but they don't have any money either. (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

They will.

I bought a Sunset Orange Metallic 2001 Camaro SS in 2012 and paid 12,800 for it. A year later I sold it for $10,300 just to get rid of it. It only had 35k miles on it. I can't seem to touch an SOM SS for $15k or more these days. And other cars seem to be following. I bought my original 2002 Camaro Z28 for $28,750 in 2002. At 85k miles in 2007 I sold it for $12,500. I bought my 2002 Z28 convertible (IN 2016) for $11,500 with 57k miles. In 5 years, these cars dipped and climbed back up to where I sold mine. And I think they are starting to climb beyond that, though it seems to be SS cars and the more loaded ones that are doing better right now. It's coming....I think you're just early.

Yea. Many guys seem to want to buy them modded into 11 second cars. It's a strange market right now. I hate that I can't run the convertible in CAM or at track days without a roll bar. I'm wishing I had a T top car, and that was what I wanted. I never meant to buy a convertible (though we actually love the car, it's just a "bad" toy). lol.

If it weren't for the 21 hour drive I'd suggest a trade. I've been wanting to get something more fun to drive than our 2010 mazda 3.

Our 95 has a 4-point in it, and isn't that bad a car. The roll bar isn't that big a deal, other than the back seat is pretty much useful for only our pups. We just don't use it much. And I understand about the 'value'. We're basically sitting on ours for now. Tried to sell it a while ago, but about all we got bites from were guys who's MO is to buy and part.

This kills me.

I spent 5000 on a car that's worth half as much as this was, I just didn't have 8k to spend at the time.

I could've scrounged another 1000 though.
