I built it for NASA, SCCA, ASA based on the American iron rules. Here in AZ we do not have a big base for the American Iron groups so I will be classed on weight and HP. I have friends that I have been tracking with for years so it is primarly for the "go out and race" class.

So where are your brake lights? I believe those little dots are LED lights! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) This post has been edited by rmackintosh: Dec 1 2010, 12:14 AM |

I have LED lights that will be installed on the rear sheet metal.... it's almost done. I still have a lot of assembly work left to do. After the two years so far I was just glad to be getting to this point. I have run HPDE4 for the last 8 years and will start in TT with this car. The Cobra was not safe at the speeds that I was running so I wanted something safer and dedicated to the track, not another show car.

(IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/nutkick.gif) One nice thing about this car it comes apart quickly! I bolted on the rear sheet metal because I built a structure for the wing to bolt to, so all the down force goes to the frame. That unbolts so the fuel cell comes out just as easy. I love the rims. Are they Soft 8s?
What size are they? Also what size and brand of tire are you using? |

Yes they are soft 8's, I think they are Craiger, they are heavy, and are 17" X 9.5" , I run 285's on all 4's. Needed the 17" to clear the brakes. I might go to 18" because the scrubbed used slicks are cheap in the 18" size.
Thanks for the comments, I know it is not the same as all the rest.... that’s the point. I put a lot of features in this car based on my past experience on the track so I am anxious to see how the suspension works. |

I call BS on this build.
That shop space is WAY too neat, clean and organized to be involved in any build. |

Ya, HA!
I can't wait to get my garage clean again! (IMG:http://www.frrax.com/rrforum/style_emoticons/default/drink.gif) I bought this car 3 years ago for $250.00 out of a field and it has never run. I have pushed this car in and out of my garage so many times I can't count any more! My garage was not always so clean..... (IMG:http://www.wri-az.com/camaro/Camaro56%20032.jpg) |

Car was out on the track last weekend and she did great! out of the box I was turning 1:17 (on 3 year old tires) at FB East track. I have some oil control issues to work through but all in all it was a good weekend to break in the motor and the brakes.
I will post some pics as soon as I get them uploaded to my site. |

Here are the Pics, please note the Brake lights, and the fact that this car has been on the track with ASA and passed teck with all of its flaws.... ran damn good too! maybe next year I will come out to CA and play with you guys after I get my car sorted out.....
Thanks Trackbird nothing like starting a car to get from point A to B, know that you have been through this process it is painful... Don't take this the wrong way as I can tell a lot of work went into this build, but I'd consider re-doing the welds in this picture:
