Has anyone on here ever drove the Tail of the Dragon in Deals Gap, NC? I've driven The Diamondback near Little Switzerland, NC with my Trans Am and rode in my wife's 2000 Bonneville SSEI with her driving it. Now I'm itching to try the Dragon but I won't do it until I've completed my plans for modifying my car.

I've only been to Deals Gap once around 4 years ago, it was flooded with THP and county sheriffs. I much prefer "The Snake" they call it. It's US 421 and US 91, really nice ride IMO.

IMHO, The Dragon used to be a fun little thing to do. But now, you really have to drive it early morning or at night, Mon-Thurs. Any other time and it will be clogged with Harleys or tourists.

You should go though, at least once. If you go with friends, it'll be 1000% more fun.

I started driving the Dragon in '73 when I was in school at UT Knoxville. Great road. I have a video from my Camaro that I tried to upload to Youtube but it was too long. I need to crop some of it out and I'll try to re-upload. Anyone know of a good FREE video editor I can use to do this?
