So from what I read you have to run the edelbrock cam, intake , carb & an old school HEI. is that right?

For a 3rd gen, that is correct unless you plan to run a stock TPI setup.
4th gen cars have to run the LT1 and almost always require a restrictor plate. |

What year do you have? 3rd gens here run the stock TPI setup of course the 305. My Z28 is an 87 with the LB9 & a auto trans so it's got the peanut cam. Wouldn't it be okay to run the Stock GM standard transmission cam. By the books that 25 HP difference? Any one know the next time the CMC cars will run at thunder hill? THill March 8/9 2008 Great thanks. I was just reading the rules for cmc. 81 mustangs are good but 81 camaros are not? I have an 81 z28 that came with a 305 & 4 speed. but it can't be used? 81 Mustang is a fox body. Fox body = 79-93 81 Camaro = 2nd gen, 2nd gen = 70-81 3rd gen Camaro = 82-92 |

QUOTE I have an 81 z28 that came with a 305 & 4 speed. but it can't be used? No, it can't be used.Thats what I though . but when I started reading the rule it says 78 to 92 cars. I start thinking filaly a use for the old beast . then the useable cars the camaro start at the third gens. so I though I ask to clearify. Thanks. Damb fords.
